It seems that the title race in the French Ligue 1 is over, the trophy will end up in Paris. PSG currently have 17 points more than second-placed Monaco, although this team has played one game less. Although the chances that Monaco can win the title are close to zero, this team needs to keep on playing well till the end of the season in order to ensure they’ll remain at the second spot.
A thing that gives their fans the confidence that Monaco will have no problems against Lille is that this team has been playing very well lately. In fact, Monaco have won six out of previous seven games, counting all competitions. Another interesting fact about Monaco’s form is that they’ve scored at least two goals in every single game they played since early January.
Rony Lopez has particularly been impressive. The winger has scored 8 out of his 11 Monaco goals in the last couple of weeks. In fact, his amazing form started as soon as we entered the year 2018. If they start playing better, Lille have a chance not only to get away from the relegation zone but, in fact, to end up somewhere in the middle of the table.
Unfortunately, they haven’t been playing too well lately. This side hasn’t won a game since January, losing two out of three previous matches. Another thing that’s giving a headache to their fans is that Lille have been pretty awful when playing away from their stadium this season. They have won only three games out of possible 11, losing nine matches along the way.
